It all started when…

The business started with a thirst for business and has stayed in the hands of its founder because it’s an enjoyable business to own. Running for 10 years it has been a great journey for the owner.
In 2017 the business was a finalist in the Wellington Regional Business Excellence Awards and the owner began making it self-sufficient.
In 2019, having succeeded in making the business mostly self-managing, the owner started a new career as a Financial Adviser.

Now the owner is at capacity as a Financial Adviser and wants to free up his spare time so it’s become time to sell the business.

This business has been a passion, an active income, and now a passive income. Now it’s time for you to take over.

SWOT

  • Paintball Corp is a well established paintball field in Lower Hutt with four playing areas and an online shop. Paintball Corp is the only outdoor paintball field in the Wellington region and boasts a large repeat customer base with a Google review score of 4.9 stars from a total of 450+ reviews.

You can run this business as an investment or work in it yourself.

The business has a large capacity for growth as it typically operates well below 20% of its maximum capacity. This is a choice the owner made to enable it to work without him but a different owner might run it closer to capacity if they worked in the business.

Very little is spent on advertising as most of the new customers come from our large groups. There is ample opportunity to create marketing campaigns to grow the company.

Self-managing with little involvement from the owner

    Extremely low fixed operating costs.

    High repeat rate

    Low marketing costs

    Mailing list of 8,000 clients

Business website is top rated on Google

  • The business is off-grid. We have a portaloo that is cleaned on a fortnightly basis and use solar panels to generate power for lights, fridge, hot water, and our POS computer.

We currently do washing offsite. This means that at least once per week washing must be taken to and from the field to be washed. A working owner would be able to do this in their own home with one washing machine but the sale comes with two washing machines and two hyper energy-efficient dryers.

  • There is little competition in Wellington for recreational activities but a very high demand.

Retail opportunities - We have grown our online store by 50% year on year. There is an opportunity to create a physical store.

Competitive paintball opportunities could be expanded upon.

The airsoft scene is mostly untouched, though many clients buy our grenades

  • The lease recently finished a 30-year fixed period and is currently undergoing its renewal process. However, the organization is 1.5 years behind in lease renewals and is pretty much ignoring the need for a lease review. We recently paid our invoice for the period ending May 2024 but technically the lease is rolling month by month.

You will need to be a fit and proper person to be assigned to the lease and the sale of the business will be conditional on this assignment.
