Glow in the dark paintballs
Glow in the dark paintballs
These 68 Calibre paintballs are the only glow-in-the-dark paintballs available in New Zealand.
Paintball Corp first had glow-in-the-dark paintball games in 2014, but 2016 was the last time we were able to find glow-in-the-dark paintballs in New Zealand. Since then we have requested numerous suppliers to manufacture them and finally have made a deal for manufacturing and sole distributorship in New Zealand.
How do I make my glow-in-the-dark paintballs glow?
The paintballs need to be illuminated by a bright UV light for at least 1 second. Shinning a light for more than 5 seconds will make very little to no difference.
There are very few products on the market to make this work but we do sell the components to let you make your own as well as our prototype hoppers which use 2xAA batteries to run for 2 hours with a 1-watt LED.
How Long will my glow-in-the-dark paintballs glow for?
The Paintballs have a half-life of about 10 seconds. This means they glow very brightly initially and it takes about 10 seconds for them to be half as bright. Whilst you can still see them 10 minutes after they have been illuminated they will be much dimmer than initially illuminated.
If you illuminate them immediately before being shot, glow-in-the-dark paintballs look like lasers traveling through the air.
About the balls
The paintballs have a transparent shell and a clear luminescent fill that shines a bright green when illuminated.
All variants are 68 calibre
The paintballs have a near-perfect round shell 4/5 grade that is brittle in line with tournament paintball. In drop tests, they don’t break when dropped 1m and break consistently at 3m.
These are still Biodegradable as the main ingredients of these paintballs are still polyethylene glycol for the fill and gelatin for the shell.
